Kullu – Manikaran Area

Vaishno Temple, Kullu: A small cave and shrine with an image of goddess Vaishno Devi, other temples are dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Rama and Lord Krishna.


Angora Rabbit Farms: 8 kms from Kullu where different varieties of Angora Rabbits are on display. Angora shawls are available at reasonable rates. ________________________________________


Shamshi Industrial Area: Shamshi is an industrial area of district Kullu. hand woven shawls and other local handicrafts like wall hangings, Kullu caps, mufflers, and jackets can be purchased here. ________________________________________


Manikaran: Famous for its hot water springs on the bank of river Parvati. The water is hot enough to even cook pulses & rice. A well-known pilgrimage place on account of a gurudwara venerated by the sikhs. There’s a legend linking the area with Lord Shiva & Parvati. ________________________________________



River Rafting: 15 minute or 45 minute river rafting ride is available with multiple operators during the summer season.

Route to Rohtang Pass

Nehru Kund:A spring of clear water named after the late prime minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who visited this area. 6 kms from Manali on the Manali Leh highway.


Kothi: Kothi is a quiet & picturesque spot at the foot of 13400 ft high mighty Rohtang Pass about 15 km from Manali. ________________________________________


Gulaba Camp: A picturesque spot rich in herbal plants and flowers. ________________________________________


Rahala Falls*: 27 kms from Manali, at the start of the climb to the Rohtang Pass are the beautiful Rahala Falls at an altitude of 2501 meters (8500ft). ________________________________________


Rani Nala*: 46 kms from Manali, it is a glacier melt point where snow is available all year.


Rohtang Pass*: Situated about 51 kms from Manali at an altitude of 4111 meters (13500 ft) on the Manali keylong highway. Here, one sees the might of the mountains in their full splendor. At the top of the pass, the area seems to glitter against the snow. You look down over herring boned ridges into the lahaul valley. ________________________________________


Solang Valley: A beautiful picnic spot with meadows surrounded by trees of silver oak and spruce. Famous for International skiing slopes. One can also enjoy paragliding and horse riding.

Nagger Areasss

Jagatsukh Temple: Famous Shiva temple made in the Shikhara style


Nagger Castle: Nagger is the erstwhile capital of Kullu, Nagger castle was built by the Raja Sikh Singh in the 16th century and was used as the royal residence and later as the state headquarters of the kingdom till the middle of the 17th century. The major attraction of the temple is the small wooden temple inside the castle called Jagatipatt temple. Now the castle has been converted into a tourism department hotel. It provides a magnificent view of the Kullu Valley. ________________________________________


Roerich Art Gallery:Nicholas Roerich was a Russian who settled down in the beautiful hills of the Himalayas after the revolution of 1917. He was a gifted painter, who dreamt of unifying the world through art. Roerich Art Gallery is set amidst well-tended gardens and has the perfect setting for the display of art. The whole ambience beautifully captures the essence and beauty of Himalayas, just like the subtle strokes of the brush by an expert. ________________________________________


Jana Water Fall: A beautiful water fall in a lush green valley. ________________________________________


Haripur Trout Farm:One can make a stop at Haripur Trout Farm to see how farm bred trout are reared. Trout is served fresh straight from the water. A beautiful location with a gushing stream that feeds the farm water. Open only till 5 PM.

Manali Town Area

Hadimba Temple: Built in 1553 with a four tiered pagoda shaped roof and a front doorway superbly crafted and carved with figures and symbols. The temple is dedicated to Hadimba Devi, wife of Bhima the Pandava & Mother of Vir Ghatotkacha who played a major role in the Mahabharata War. It is situated amidst the lush green and thick Deodars of Dhungri & is a protected monument. ________________________________________


Tibetan Monasteries: One can have a closer look at Tibetan art and culture by visiting the monasteries on Gompa Road in Manali.


Club House: Located next to the Beas River, the Club House of Himachal Tourism has facilities like – roller skating ring, auditorium, billiard rooms, library & bar.


Vashisht Rishi Temple and Hot Sulphur Springs: Across the Beas River about 3.2 kms away from town at an altitude of 1982 meters (6200 ft) above the famous Manali Keylong Leh highway is located the ancient Rishi Vashisht temple and its hot water springs are said to be endowed with healing powers.

Hamta Pass Area

Jamdagni Rishi Temple: Ancient temple set amidst huge trees of Deodar just above Prini village. The temple is dedicated to the Jamdagni Rishi – Father of Lord Parshurama, an Avatar of Lord Vishnu. ________________________________________


Hamta/Sethan Village: An old village located at an elevation of 9500 ft. One can see the entire Kullu – Manali Valley from this beautiful elevated location. ________________________________________


Panduropa: A sacred spot – said to be the ‘Rice Field’ of the Pandavas when they were in exile. Strangely, this is the only spot where Rice grows even at this altitude – a fact that adds to the mystery & beauty of the area. Also surrounded by a beautiful high altitude meadow. ________________________________________


Towards Hamta Pass: The Motor able road ends here & one can take a brief 15-30 minute walk through verdant forests and bubbling brooks – surrounded by awe inspiring natural beauty. *This area requires a permit to access & a visit is subject to availability of the said Permit.
